CSI Kalyani Multispeciality Hospital functions as a Charitable Institution and our aim is to provide subsidized medical care for the poor and downtrodden irrespective of caste, creed or religion. History of the Hospital: C.S.I. Kalyani Multispeciality Hospital is located in the prestigious Dr.Radhakrishnan Salai right next to one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. The sea breeze continuously blows over Kalyani and keeps air pure and invigorating. This Hospital is one of the oldest and largest of the Voluntary Health Organizations in the city of Chennai. Kalyani Hospital owes its origin in 1909, to the altruistic and charitable disposition of a Brahmin convert and philanthropist, the late Dewan Bahadur Narayanaiyar Subramaniyam, Barrister-at-law, and advocate of the High Court of Madras, who served with distinction as Administrative General and Official Trustee of Madras. He bequeathed the buildings to the Methodist Missionary Society of London to run a hospital for Women and Children which was later taken over by the Church of South India. Opened by Lady White, the Methodist Missionary on 1st March 1909, as a small hospital for women and children with 24 beds and a small group of dedicated staffs, the hospital has now grown as a full fledged multispeciality hospital with 220 beds providing all major speciality services, catering to the health needs of all strata of society. The thrust however remain to provide low cost effective care to the poor and under priviledged. C.S.I. Kalyani Hospital celebrated its 100th year in Healing Ministry in March 2009
